Kia Center arena, downtown Orlando

Kia Center: bags, parking and getting there

The arena allows no bags at all, just one clutch the size of a phone wallet. Parking runs $10–$25, and SunRail stops four minutes away.

Leave the backpack in the car. The Kia Center runs a no-bag policy: one small clutch is all you carry in, and there is no clear-bag option. This guide covers the bag rule, parking, transit and timing, then what's on.

The bag rule

Bags are not permitted. Each guest may bring one clutch no bigger than 4.5 × 6.5 × 1 inches, about the size of a phone wallet. Medical bags and parent bags up to 14 × 14 × 6 inches are the exceptions, and they go through an X-ray at designated doors.

If you arrive with a bag anyway, Binbox smart lockers sit on the street-level plaza at the northwest corner of the arena. Also refused at the door: outside food and drink, strollers, selfie sticks and signs larger than 11 × 17 inches. Noisemakers are banned, with one exception: cowbells are allowed at Solar Bears games.

Where to park

The closest option is the ThreatLocker Garage at 400 W South Street, right next to the arena. The garage at 520 W Pine Street is about a five-minute walk. Both sell pre-paid event parking through the arena's ticketing or the box office until 5 PM the day before. Ticketmaster's venue guide puts pre-paid parking at about $25 before fees.

Cheaper: the City of Orlando's Garland Avenue lot (109 W Pine St), the 55 West garage (60 W Pine St) and the Central Boulevard garage (53 W Central Blvd), which the arena lists at $10 to $20. There is no vehicle re-entry on event parking, so park once.

Transit and rideshare

The Church Street SunRail station is about a four-minute walk. Check SunRail's timetable for the last train home before you plan on it for a late finish. LYNX routes 20, 36 and 40 and the downtown LYMMO lines 61 and 62 also stop near the arena.

Rideshare drop-off and pick-up is at the corner of Hughey Avenue and Pine Street.

Doors, re-entry and kids

Doors usually open one hour before the time printed on the ticket. There is no re-entry: step out and your ticket is spent.

At Orlando Magic games, children under 36 inches tall get in free on an adult's lap. At other events the cut-off is age 2.
